Ledger – Wallet | Getting Started
Cryptocurrency offers incredible freedom—but with that freedom comes the responsibility of keeping your digital assets safe. If you’ve decided to take control of your crypto by investing in a Ledger wallet, you’ve taken a powerful step toward securing your digital future.
Ledger is a trusted name in crypto hardware wallets. Whether you own a Ledger Nano S, Nano S Plus, or Nano X, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know to get started—from setting up your wallet to making your first crypto transaction securely.
🔐 What Is a Ledger Wallet?
A Ledger wallet is a physical device that stores the private keys for your cryptocurrencies offline. This makes it significantly safer than keeping your assets in online wallets or on crypto exchanges, which are vulnerable to hacking, phishing, and data breaches.
Key Benefits:
- Cold storage security (offline and hack-resistant)
- Supports 5,500+ cryptocurrencies
- PIN protection
- Backed by a 24-word recovery phrase
- Works with Ledger Live, a companion app for easy crypto management
Ledger wallets are designed for users who value control, security, and privacy over their digital assets.
📦 What’s in the Box?
Your Ledger wallet package should include:
- Ledger hardware wallet (Nano S, Nano S Plus, or Nano X)
- USB cable (USB-C or Micro-USB)
- Recovery phrase cards (for writing down your 24-word seed phrase)
- Keychain or lanyard
- Setup instructions
🚀 Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Setting up your Ledger wallet is a one-time process that establishes security and prepares your wallet to manage digital assets.
Step 1: Download Ledger Live
Visit the official Ledger website:

Download Ledger Live for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, or Android) and install it.
Step 2: Connect and Initialize Your Ledger Device

- Power it on and select "Set up as new device."
- Choose a secure 4- to 8-digit PIN code using the device buttons.
- Write down your 24-word recovery phrase on the supplied cards.
🛠️ What Is the Recovery Phrase?
The 24-word recovery phrase is a human-readable representation of your wallet’s private keys. It's your backup plan. If your device is ever lost, stolen, or reset, you can restore access to your funds with this phrase on any Ledger device.
💡 If someone gains access to your recovery phrase, they can access your crypto. Keep it secret. Keep it safe.📱 Setting Up Ledger Live
Once your device is initialized:
